About My Art

My story

My art expands throughout different medias and materials, but as many others I started out with pencil and paper. As a little girl, I loved drawing animals and women, which I at some extent still do. I remember sitting in the car and drawing, while my parents were out wine tasting in the wine districts of Australia. I remember drawing absentminded in school, making the vague excuse of making “homework drawings” (a drawing upon which I would write my homework on). Art truly has been a constant factor for me. It is not merely a hobby - it is an existence. Later in life, in senior High to be exact, I began my fascination with sculpture; all the while my art became more refined and purposeful. In school I learned about art history and that made an impact on me, expanding my limited knowledge of the field. Art galleries and museums became more interesting and I grew a fondness of Installation Art. I especially enjoyed the works of Elmgreen & Dragset and I still do. I like the “in your face” and insisting quality of these artworks, and some day I hope to obtain the same quality in my artworks. After finishing school, I have had a few internships and a volunteer job. They have all been about art and artworks. I have been at an internship, where I have worked alongside with professional artists for the purpose of producing a social artwork. I have observed an illustrator in his process of making products for his clients, while he tutored me. I have also had an internship as a co-teacher at an art school, where I learned a great deal about what it takes to tutor children and youngsters. My volunteer job was to help paint a massive artwork on a metro station construction-wall by the Danish artist Mette Rishøj. The reward of the day was definitely to see my name on the sign.
